Removing Foreign MUI's etc??

hello all,
i notice in my win7 installation that i have numerous folders labeled "fr-fr", "hr-hr", "it-it", "da-dk", etc.
from what i gather, these are because i have a multilingual version of windows 7 (?)
can anyone offer a way to safely remove them?

I tried and they're locked.

I wouldn't attempt is because there are literally thousands of registry entries regarding different languages.
