Dumb Question About Customization Of The Taskbar

As the title says, it is dumb and probably everyone knows how to do this, but how do you put a separator between programs on the taskbar? its just that i have lots of different 'category' programs that I just want to look neat and easy to navigate to.
    Thanks for any help :)

You COULD use Jumplist Launcher and make a different "program" for each of your categories. You would have to use the jumplists to open each of your programs though. And then they would open in a separate icon on the taskbar.

    Hello Dom,

I think a program like Nexus, Fences, or RockeDock may be better suited for this.

However, if you wanted to do this on the taskbar, then you can do this workaround to do so. You would actually pin folders like the way you do with Quick Launch by having the shortcut icons that you place in the folder showing instead of the folder icon. You would create on of these per category that you wanted. Next, leave the taskbar unlocked so that you have the dotted separater line inbetween each pinned folder group.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Sorry, I wanted to still have the apps on the taskbar, just a separator between them.

I tried putting all the shortcuts of the programs in folders on the desktop, then dragged to the taskbar. It just put the link of Windows Explorer on and in the jumplist on a right-click it was listed under tasks. Doesn't work for me

    Dom,

Yeah, it will not work by dragging the folder to the taskbar. They will not pin that way. Instead, see the "pin folders" and "Quick Launch" links in the post above for how to pin a folder to the start menu like that. :)

OK, i don't get it()! How do you create a folder in the application?
Why don't you PM me showing me step by step of how to do the workaround? And don't worry, this is frustrating for me and you.
