Black menu bar in full screen (Possible bug?)

    Hi

I have a strange problem with the Windows 7 themes. When I use F11 to make an explorer window (both ie and file explorer), the top menu bar (or maybe title bar) becomes black. This does not happen with Firefox or if I change the theme to Windows Classic or Windows 7 Basic. I've looked for help everywhere, but not been able to find any. This is really annoying! I'll attach a screen shot to visualize my problem. Has anybody else experienced this behaviour?

Hello Decafoc, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This would be the Auto Hide option not being checked while in F11 full screen mode. The tutorial below can help show you how to check it so that the address & tool bars auto hides again for you.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for the reply (and the welcoming), but that was not really my problem. :-D

Maybe I wasn't all too clear, but if I remember correctly, the colour of the top bar in full-screen mode should be the same as when in window mode. In my screen shot it is black when it should be blue. This only happens when I use one of the Windows 7 themes (I guess these are the Aero themes) and not when using the Classic or Basic themes. Is this really correct behaviour in full-screen mode?

Oh, I see now. Yes, that is the correct color for that bar when you are using a Aero theme to indicate that you are in F11 full-screen mode. It cannot be changed as far as I know of.

That seems really strange to me. I must have mixed up the behaviour of the Aero themes and the Basic theme. Thanks alot for your help, however! Now I don't need to waste any more time to figure out what's wrong.

Hey guys, I was just looking this up myself. The black looks absolutely awful and as far as I knew, it wasn't the standard in Windows 7.

Unfortunately, the more I get into Windows 7, the more left overs I find from Vista, and this seems to be one of them.

If anyone does find a hack to make the titlebar stay transparent on full-screen, please let us know :)

    Cheers
