    Transparent Start menu

Hi ! I want to make the Red bordered area of the start menu transparent . In this regard I got two ideas viz. (i) to use the clear glass theme (not suitable, I think) ; and (ii) to buy windowblinds (costly).

can anybody give me a better idea? Thanks in advance .

This is my opinion and it might not agree with yours, but that is the good thing about this forum, you can get many ideas to make a decision.

I would not spend money on the clear glass theme. If you want to spend money on the computer there are so many more worthwhile choices.

My answer is try the free one and see how it goes.

Try Glass2k Download Glass2k 0.9.2 - A small little program that allows Windows users to make any window transparent. - Softpedia Iam using it (screenshot) it does not install it just a exe I put it in my startup folder. Right click on any window or start menu or taskbar & set it.

Thanks, I'm in XP right now and didn't want to boot into Win 7 for testing. Lol, you read my mind. I've tried quite a few, not so much for transparency but for that background area of the start menu to be skinned with color without affecting other elements of Win Gui. I bought Style builder and so far it's been a waste of money. That's not to say Style builder is bad because it's not. MS is the problem. Skin some element specific to the start menu and low and behold it changes in the sidebar of some window, lol.
