Removing welcome screen for classic login

I've never been a fan of the login welcome screen that was implemented in windows XP, however back then I could disable it to have the more classic login screen where you just type in username and password.

I can't find any option like this on Windows 7, seems impossible to change the login method, but at the same kind it can't possibly be impossible. That would render win7 useless for any larger workplaces where you're connected to servers with hundreds of usernames. So anyone know how to do it?

Try running netplwiz from an elevated command prompt.

    Good luck.

    Hello Flashist,

The tutorial below can help show you how to have it where you must log in by typing a user name and password. It will be the same in Windows 7 as well.

Logon with Username and Password - Vista Forums

    Hope this helps,

    Flashist,

Well, I suppose that if you could get or find a copy of that image you are wanting for the background on Google somewhere, you could change the log on screen background to it.

I would like it to look like this. Not the theme and all, could just as well be in windows 7 themes with aero etc. But just not the welcome screen with the user icon and all.
Just never liked it, and never will perhaps I'm just wierd

    Flashist,

I'm not aware of any way to have it look like that again.
