    Wallpaper stuck on stretch problem

I've just received a new Compaq Presario CQ61 for Christmas and have found a problem with personalising the wallpaper which any suggestions for solving would be much appreciated! It runs on Windows 7 Home Premium. I have set the desktop up as a pictures slideshow, which works fine, but it seems to be stuck in "stretch" and will not be changed to another format. I'm logged in as the administrator, I've tried adjusting the UAC settings, but nothing works. I'm sure it's something very small, but have been wracking my brains without success! Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas, please?
    Many thanks, fwilliams

Put it into a different folder, I think that's what I did to resolve that issue.

This is a known issue with HP. Don't they own Compaq?

I'm sure they do, but my HP Mini 110 runs Win7 Home Prem. with no problems in the personlisation area...although it was upgraded from starter.

I have found a solution to my problem, but thanks for your suggestion Anthony. As stated, this is a known problem and there is now a solution on the HP website if anyone else needs it.

After inputting your laptop and Windows specs you'll be sent to the Downloads & Drivers section. Once here, scroll down to find the Wallpaper Picture Position Enabler. I've just installed it and it does indeed fix the problem.

This isn't an HP problem or a driver issue, etc. It's a Windows 7 settings selection.

Here's what I did. I had right-clicked an image I wanted as my desktop wallpaper image, and it stretched it over the screen too big. At that point I went to my desktop screen and right-clicked anywhere on a blank space. In the pop-up I selected "personalize", and at the bottom there I saw my desktop image labeled "desktop background." Click the "desktop background" link and at the bottom you'll see "picture position" with a box where you can select from stretch to fill to center or whatever.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks! I have been struggling with this problem for the last month. Being that I work ith images every day I was eating me away. I can now have pretty pic for my backgroung. Though found difficult navigating through the hp site to get to the download so if anyonr else has a problem with her pavilion 3dm 1025sa pic position go here:

Unable to Change Wallpaper Position in Windows 7 HP Pavilion dm3-1025sa Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

or if you have a different kind of hp get to your specific make and then get inside "Solve Problem".

    Hi,

As posted in another thread, my Asus did not benefit from the HP solution.

    Please help.
