    Pitaschio desktop enchancement help

Pitaschio is a program that does many desktop enhancements, but I only need it to do 1 thing and that's tile icons on desktop. However every time I load it it crashes explorer.exe and does nothing to my desktop even tho it stays in my task manager.

Here's a link to where I read about it, at the end it even says "Windows 7".

If anyone knows any other program that can tile desktop items for Win7 please let me know.

(I'm on 64bit Win7, maybe that's it? My first time ever using 64)

Hi, I have the same problem. I've been using Pitaschio in WinXP for quite awhile for the "activate window with mousewheel" feature which I now find hard to live without.

I find that loading Pitaschio and closing the configuration window both crash explorer.exe. Reopening explorer makes the Pitaschio system tray icon disappear but the application still works in the background.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Just a suggestion, but try running the program in compatibility mode for Vista and see if that sorts the problem out.

The page you linked to is dated July 2009 ie. before the final release of Windows 7. There made have been changes made that affect how the program runs.

    Compatibility Mode[2]=Programs%20Features

    Hope this helps.

I switched to a utility called KatMouse. It doesn't do everything Pitaschio did, but it takes care of mousewheel scrolling under the cursor without activating the window, which is what I really needed. Works great.

WizMouse looks good too. I might try it to see how it compares with KatMouse.

    Regards

Run compatibility troubleshooter for Pitaschio. It will set it to run as Win XP SP2 and it works great. Most of the important functions I use are still there including the mouse wheel, transparency and top most adjustments. This is on Win7 32 bit I haven't tried it on 64 bit.

Didn't work for me in 64-bit, but WizMouse does work.
