If is a very recent development, use System Restore, from a point one or two days before the problem.

Ok, this will work. Use the system image from a point prior to the problem.

Lets see a smiley face, I will help you. Go to control panel>recovery>advanced options. This will work, if you go back far enough. Remember, though, this is a big solution for a small problem. Everything, will change. Your personal documents, pictures, email, everything will return to the date that you go back to.

I suggest before you do this, save everything that you want on an exteral hard drive, flash drive or a CD.

Be careful, this is a powerful solution.

I have read your PM and the problem is much bigger than just wallpaper. Use my suggestion, back up and you will be ok.

    Hello Midhull,

See if running a sfc /scannow command may be able to help. If not, then a repair install should.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Not sure I can be of much help, but did you uncheck the "Go online to get the latest updates" box in Setup?

Here is the next question: how much stuff do you have on your machine? If possible, backup all your files and do a clean install.

Just found another solution: create a new user account; perhaps your current one is corrupt.
