    Avedesk alternative?

Avedesk is being a stubborn twunt and I'm tired of trying to fix it.

All I need is a program that will allow me to put shortcuts on the desktop with custom icons, preferably with adjustable sizes. Simply changing the icons is not enough. This is for an HTPC and I need the icons to be huge and visible.

Must work with Windows 7 64-bit.

    kthx.

EDIT: Please read post #4 in this thread for more details.

That won't do what I need it to, judging by these pictures of it.

My home theater PC desktop used to look like this, using Avedesk:

Seeing as that is 1920 x 1200 aspect ratio, you can see how big the icons are that I am using. I do that because default sized icons are far too small to see from the couch. However, since upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, I cannot get Avedesk to work properly. I'd like to get my desktop back to how it was and I'm looking for a program that will do just that. Hopefully that explains it a bit better.

Have you tried to set the icons To extra large? These look to be about the same size as your screen shot.

or select an icon and use the mouse scroll wheel + Ctrl to size

By the way this may not work well for all icons as it relies on the use of the new 256x256 pixel set that ships with win7.

There are now a lot of 256x256 icons on the web so you may need to change the icon on some items

You can try Samurize. With Samurize you can make your own icons, links etc.
It's works fine on x64 (right-click the installer, Properties, Compatiblity tab, and enable Run in XP Compatiblity Mode.)
