Hide ONLY my desktop's desktop.ini, and nothing else?
I want to view all my OS's files and folders, including hidden ones, but for some reason the desktop.ini on my desktop is bugging me. I want it gone. Either deleted or just hidden from view.
Is there a way to do this without affecting the visibility of anything else?
I've seen the question posted before but the fixes did not work. These included removing and then reapplying the +s and +h attributes, applying them via command prompt, and deleting the file in explorer (it keeps coming back). Ideally I could delete it and it never came back.

Download stardocks fences... by defualt it will put all your icons in little sections but you can tell it not to do that.
You can tell it to hide certain files on double click on the desktop.. For those of use who like un cluttered desktops its a great tool.

At first I was like "man, I'm not gonna download a whole 8 meg program just to hide one little icon"... but then I was like "F*** it, yes I am".
So basically I right clicked on all the other desktop icons and excluded them from the quick hide feature. Then I used quick hide to hide the ini file. Guess it gets the job done. Thanks for idea McKill. Not ideal but not bad, and maybe I'll actually find a use for the fences.
