This image is a mesh of two different backgrounds. It's now my current login screen and it looks very nice.

That certainly offers a majestic feel to things there! Another thought was on this one.

There's nothing wrong with that! You only see it for so many seconds anyways.

I must be the only person here that uses the built in themes (Architecture on the Media Center PC and United States on the Netbook) and default login, etc. About the only thing I customize is the size of the titlebar and border padding. It's non-intuitive but I find it gives a cleaner look and saves a lot of screen real estate on the Netbook. Here goes:

Ever notice just how much larger the titlebars and window borders are with Aero compared to classic visual styles? I guess Microsoft must have reasoned that screens are getting larger so why not use that space to accentuate that cool new glass effect. Well I've seen it, and I like it, but not so much that I'm going to trade my work area for it especially with so many apps getting the glass treatment on their toolbars and/or ribbons. I like to shrink some user interface elements that I consider unneccesarily large. Here's how:
    1) Right click the desktop and select Personalize
    2) Click Window Color
    3) Click Advanced Appearance Settings...
    4) Read the dialog text
    Post your Start-up screen-1.jpg
    Ahem, bullsh*t!
    5) Change the Active Titlebar size to 18 (other related sizes will track automatically)
    6) Change the Border Padding to zero
    7) Change the Menu size to 17
    8) You can optionally change some other fonts and colors -- even icon size a spacing

So it works in Windows 7 Aero but didn't in Vista and it looks like Microsoft just forgot to remove the disclaimer text

The customized effects were seen along with that when going into the advanced section on Vista. I used that for the 3D objects as well as the default desktop when no wallpaper was applied there. No more "Classics" however which was a shocker when many first saw the early looks!
