    Windows 7 Explorer Folder Details

    Hello All,

Is there any way to have explorer folder details(customized order) to change ALL folders to that setting? Here is what I mean:

    - Open explorer and right click on the right pane next to "name".
    - Select "more" from the menu
    - In the "choose details menu" default check boxes are name, date modifed,
type, size(in that order). I prefer the view order of: name, size, type, date modified. When I "move" those 4 detail in that order its in force for that folder.
My question is, is there anyway I can to apply that order to ALL folders on the harddrive? Its a bit burdening to have to do this to every folder. I don't see
any setting for this in Folder Options.

I've only been using Win7 for a week. Any information appreciated.

    Hi and welcome.
Yes their is a way to setup all your directories the same on your computer.

Folder View - Set a Default for All Folders

    1. Open My Computer from your desktop.

    2. Select C: Drive from the left column.

    3. In the right screen it should show you all the files and directories under C Drive.

    4. Setup the root directory the way you want all the directories to be.

    5. When this is compete and you are happy open the tab at the let top of the screen that says ORGANIZE

    6. Select FOLDERS & SEARCH OPTION from the pulldown.

    7. When the new window opens select the top tab called VIEW

    8. When the next window opens select the button that says APPLY TO FOLDERS

After you hit that button it will ask you if this is the way you want all your folders to be. Say YES.

At this time I would close everything and reboot and all your folders should be the way you like them.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Have a great day.
