Well, I've never had to use this, so I wouldn't know if this was the right menu...

    If it looks like this:

Then this: will do the job.

I can't set it up to switch directly between the audio devices without knowing certain information about your speakers and your card, so this is the best I can do.
I made an account on this site just to say thank you, I've been looking for something like this for about an hour now, and this is so simple it's unbelievable. So thank you again.

    me need your help too!

    Goodmorning to all.
I have win 7 x64 and i have the same problem. I know C language programming and other language too.
My PC is with this configuration:
    Normal Monitor
GC: gainward gtx 460 (with integrated sound card for HDMI)
5.1 with motherboard integrated audio device
    Keyboard and mouse Logitech
And, in the near room I have:
TV LG 50” connected to my PC with HDMI cable
    Another keyboard and mouse.

I have the same problem: ALL time I need to select the monitor and the sound!
I need to select the monitor because the monitor il 16:10 and the tv 16:9 so I can’t clone the monitor without lose a part of the screen.
And I need all time to select the audio for the same problem of the author of this thread: I can’t play the same straming audio with 5.1 mobo and HDMI.

The program you do, “sound shortcut” is what I want but I need some change… I need a program very similar but the program for me need to:
CTRL+1 change to audio PC generatoed by my mo.bo. audio integrated(ok, the same thing!)
CTRL+2 change to audio TV (not SPDIF but “LG-TV”. To tell you the truth is not “HDMI” because my graphic card have created a new virtual audio device named “TV-LG” in the control panel of the audio of the windows and if I set to default HDMI the tv do not play the sound, I need to select “Tv-LG” to correct play the sound on my TV)
Ctrl+3 change the monitor to PC
Ctrl+4 change the monitor to LG

Maybe there is a win7 shortcut for change monitor but I don’t found it :-(
Can you generate a program for me with this function? The sound on “TV LG” is not a standard device, so you can correct select the right thing with your program?

If you want I can write myself the program starting from your source code, can you give me the source code of your program?
If yes, with what language you programmed it and with what toolkit?

    Many Many Many thanks!,
    Massimiliano

hum hi.. i'm new too.. i also found this wonderful solution to a problem I found and registered just so I could download the 2nd attachment which is exactly what i've been looking for. for some really messed up reason.. this forum has managed to lose the attachment data since it was posted.. only 3 years ago..

anyway, how about the admin of this fine forum restores and relinks the old attachment from an old backup which probably exists, instead.. that would make a lot more sense to me as a forum admin myself

or better yet, how about one of the people that downloaded it post it back.. that'll save time, instead of making a whole new thread asking someone to recreate what's already been done and thanked for if you know what I mean. I mean it's kinda insulting for the generous coder that made this script for his attachment to go missing after just 3 years

and you know, this thread ranks #1 on google for the words "change sound output quickly", so that's another reason why the solution to this problem should be reposted in *this* thread

peace to whoever reads this. if someone has the attachment.. like the OP maybe? could you please re-upload them? thanks...
