I keep getting "this was designed for win 7" I use win 7 Nvidia build 2010 x64
That build is not from NVidia, with build strings like yours, your going to have all sorts of problems with a huge variety of software.

I think Blizarro has enough work than supporting modified, cracked, illegal builds of Windows 7

That released build looks for the string "Windows 7". That was failing on builds like yours.

The unreleased version now looks for build #'s. I started at 5500. RTM is 7600. So as long as your build is > 5500, it will load.

Open up regedit and navigate here. It will tell you what build your running.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CurrentBuildNumber

I do this to prevent vista users from running the program.

    What does yours say?

How is it illegal? because I didn't buy it at the store? It has to be activated the same way the store copy's are, nothing illegal about that. and no other problems yet.

I don't and won't use pre-activated (illegal os's) the only reason I joined the RT peeps was when they went legit.

dmex supplied code to do it the best way. This will work no matter what kinda win7 you have. Ultimate, Premium, Basic, bootleg, whatever.

    It was simple fix.

    Thanks dmex

Instead of preventing the users from running the program, you could prevent them from applying the Start Orbs, but still allow them to create Start Orbs.
I normally use this on build 7600 at home, but at work, I have only XP and would like to create some orbs when I'm free.

Very good idead. I could still prompt them and then disable the apply buttons. I do plan on adding vista support, but I have to look into it some more.

Either way I still need to know what version the user is running.

    Thanks again for the suggestion.

Just wait for the next release. Check out the screen shot.

Here is an orb that was created using StartOrbz. I just supplied the wallpaper and pressed the orb button and a few other settings. Within seconds I had a custom button.

This works for flag orbs or whatever. Just supply the image and you got an orb....button...rectangle...you control the shape with the new options.

For you die-hard W7SBC fans, I attached the bmp's too...which StartOrbz can now export for you guys. . StartOrbz users can drop the png in the orbs folder and you will be able to apply it from there.

    Back to work!
