thanks for the replies, but i forgot to mention i was hoping for a standalone widget that measured temperature and did not require and other software to run

Here's one I use from orbmu2k. The one I use particular is the interlcoreseries one (2.4), but just for Intel cpu's. You can have it install the WinRing0 driver, shows temps without any other software, but only shows the cpu cores temps, not the separate CPU temp. Also shows used/total RAM. Works good for me though.

Should work for you, if you have Core 2 Duo cpu.

Please be aware that the software listed below added more than the Core Temp, program which did not work and wanted yet another program to be installed in order to work. It also changed my Menu Bar and added an unwanted Backup Program. If I could sue whoever Walker is I would. Changing my menu bar is akin to kidnapping my computer. I do not take this lightly. Please Keep that in mind Walker.

    Hi again zijincheng,

This works in Vista so it may work in Windows 7 as well: Core Temp (32-bit) - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

    You haven't specified if you're using 32- or 64-bit Windows 7...

    Cheers,
