Relocating a portion of User profile

I have one application that insists on storing log files and profiles at: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local. When I try to moe it to my E:\ partition it gets hung with the error message:
The action can't be completed because the file is open in System
Close the file and try again.

I have tried deleting all non-essential processes within Task Manager to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks

To be honest you may be creating more problems by moving things to a different partition.

Should you really want to move it try booting into safe mode (F8) and see if it is still open

You could try a directory symbolic link <SYMLINKD> or a junction point <JUNCTION> to point to your E: drive.

I have tried it in Safe Mode with same result. I even booted off a Windows diagnostic disk and deleted the 3 offending files. I then rebooted to Windows 7 and tried again. Unfortunately the same 3 files with extensions LOG, LOG1 and LOG2 had already been recreated. Any more ideas? Thanks

    Hello prroots.

Have you run a good AV scanner to see if it turns up anything?

I have run both antivirus and antispyware scans. Everything is clean.

try disabling your startups through msconfig. restart try again.

If that doesn't work, uninstall the program, clear everything out, then reinstall w/ any advanced options you can find. You'll usually be able to change certain attributes and paths that way.

Here's a nice little tutorial about that subject, at the link below.
