How to disable the taskbar popups?
OK, maybe I am just blind, but how can I disable the popups that come when I hover a taskbar item?
Just wondering.

WarningBefore attempting registry editing, please backup your registry
This should effectively turn them off by disabling balloon tips and raising the mouseover time.
Taskbar Thumbnail Previews - Enable or Disable
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Advanced
EnableBalloonTips > 0/1 (0 to disable)
ThumbnailLivePreviewHoverTime > Time in MS (I.E. 11111 [11 sec])
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Advanced]
"EnableBalloonTips"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Advanced]
"ThumbnailLivePreviewHoverTime"=dword:11111

Ah, seems that it solves my problem. Thank you. :)
(There is no way to disable them only if there is only one window, so they would be pointless anyway?)
I don't know, I don't really notice them much, usually right click to close the window before I notice teh popup.
I gave up fighting with the annoying taskbar "jack-in-the-box" popups, so I threw my taskbar to the top of the screen where my mouse rarely goes anyway. Here's how:
Taskbar - Move Location on Desktop Screen
1. right-click the taskbar
2. click "Properties" from the menu
3. from the "Taskbar location on screen" drop-down menu, choose "Top"
4. click "Apply"
5. click "OK"
Now, with the taskbar at the top of the screen, "popups" will only drop downward ("popdowns"). And you have to go out of your way to reach them at the top of the screen.
Yeah, yeah, it looks strange, but I'm liking it better than the frequent, accidental mouse-overs near the bottom of my screen.
