I had the same problem with that thin white bar after "auto hide" taskbar, so I noticed the issue is related to the aero view of the desktop, so I simply clicked on the desktop and picked the "Windows 7 basic" theme.
Awesome post...worked like a charm !!!
I've stumbled across this topic and also wanted thank Generator for the two simple files. Here is a trick how to use them more conveniently: Add shortcuts of both the hide.exe and show.exe to your start menu and assign keyboard shortcuts (ctrl + alt + key of your choice) to them.
Thank you Generator, I been searching for something like your program for a while now, I found a few but they did not suit my needs as well as yours has Thank you.
My god I wanna hug you.
Hi Generator,
I've added your hidetaskbar.exe to my Startup folder, but upon startup it only gets rid of the Windows Start Button icon (however that area is still clickable and will bring up the Start Menu). The taskbar is still visible and auto-hidden.
