Jesus, your going to ban peeps for debating with no swearing etc going on ?

This thread is 1 of the MOST important ones for Win 7.
now why did you have to post that..... you were told not to bicker that should be the end of it, you dont have to swear to offend.

the next post in this thread should of been BACK ON TOPIC, not to discuss the warning.
I'll try to get it back on topic.

Does anyone notice that when you close and open notepad and IE, they are in the exact same position?

Are these the only apps it works for natively? I don't know because I don't usually care and never pay attention to it.

No IE and WM (if you import Win Mail back into OS) open primary a smaller window in mid screen, you then drag edge to edge and close and they will open that way forever.

However other explorer windows do not.

Don't resize a folder say full of Photos unless you want all other Windows to copy its size.

    Hi!

Since the first public beta of Windows 7, I found it very annoying, that MS removed the option to remember each folders view settings for explorer windows. Now explorer windows didn't even remember their position and size, which completely destroyed my work routine.

After a lot of research and many failed attempts to fix the issue, I found a solution to this problem: WindowManager (DeskSoft - WindowManager - Window position and size manager)

This small utility remembers and restores the position and size of all top-level windows. You can even lock certain windows to always open them at the same spot, and there are other cool features. I tried it and it does the job!

    Best regards!
now we are back on topic. the above is the post that started this thread. ie and notepad are not folders. viewing a folder, viewing computer, viewing network, etc... are windows. when you launch a app that is not a window.

Alright, I hear ya. Yeah, I mistakenly thought the issue applied to all apps.

Tweaker, do you have any plans to release your app soon? I am really starting to hate coming back to this site and browse through piles of crap and walls of useless text.
I really think you should actually make your own topic because I am sensing that this is going to get locked soon from what has been posted above and to be honest your app is the only reason I still visit my bookmark here.

IE and WM etc ARE windows (may not be folders), remember some peeps get issues getting IE to remember its size and position in XP/Vista.

The old trick was to open 3 of them and then close all 3 of them, some say use the File >Exit instead of Red X, others say hold CONTROL and close them.

All I can add before the kind peep above shares his new App is that "windowsmanager" works for me, even the older builds but its only for size+position not layout if anyone is having issues with contents.

I'm working on the installer still, have issues left with the uninstaller that I need to sort out. I hope that I can get something working during the night or tomorrow.

I'll probably make a new topic yes, so that any downloads can be kept and updated in the first post, for easy finding.

Thanks m8, yes make a new topic that is specifically for peeps unhappy with Win 7 lacking the oldest windows feature that most of us use/need.

Hope you do not get visitors in it claiming its not an issue and ain't needed.
