Windows animations

I'm curious why do some people really like the windows animations when you say open or close? Open a menu or what have you. To me I want the window or menu to open as fast as possible. I don't get this. It's worse in Apple's OS. Apple's OS always annoyed me when I used to refurbish those. Waiting for those windows to animate open.

It just looks smooth. Since I can't have it on my Windows... I put it on my Linux system.

So far, even with the low amount of memory on this computer, it runs flawless. So... no hindrances.

It doesn't slow my computer down I just don't see the point in watching the window animate every time. To each their own.

Same here. I had it set that way for a while, but the novelty wore off....same with the transparent glass.

A few animations and shortcuts not working
A few shortcuts, such as Win+Home, don't work. In addition, a few animations aren't being displayed - a program being launched from the taskbar, the taskbar mouseover "glow" that follows the cursor, and the taskbar window preview fade-in effect. Others, such as opening/closing windows, windows...

No restore up/down animations in Aero?
Is my PC misbehaving or are there actually no restore up/down animations in Aero? Windows just snap directly into full screen and back to window mode with no animation whatsoever. How did they miss that? The minimize/maximize animations are so beautiful, why didn't they do the same with restore...
