Wallpaper still appears after file delete

    Greetings.

I have downloaded a wallpaper picture file and stored it under my created Wallpaper Folder under My Pictures.

I then right clicked the image and selected set as wallpaper. My desktop wallpaper then changed to the picture concerned.

However I have now deleted the original file from the location concerned and restarted the computer from a cold start, however my wallpaper has not changed.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could please help me with where Windows has stored this file that it is still displayed. I am running Win 7 Pro.

    With many thanks
    Dave

And....for some odd reason sometimes the background will get copied to: C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 check both of those places too.

Thank you for your help, this is what I have.

    C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\DesktopBackground
I have the Themes folder but no DesktopBackground folder.

    C:\Windows\Resources\DesktopBackground
I have the Resources folder but no DesktopBackground folder.
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes
    The themes folder is empty.

    C:\Windows
I cannot find the file here either.

    C:\Windows\System32
    Neither here.

The file is in the Recycle Bin though as Tiger Cub.

Any other reason of why it still may appear as a desktop picture.

Oh yeah forgot, it might get renamed to InternetExplorerBackground.bmp or InternetExplorerWallpaper.bmp or something like that.

Thank you I have found it as the Transcoded Wallpaper, I thought Windows had moved on from just dropping files in numerous locations like this. Anyway your help is appreciated and I have come away having learnt something. Great forum guys.

    Thank you
    Dave.
