    Icon label colors

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit and cannot change the colors of the labels of the desktop icons. There is not sufficient contrast in the default font to read them easily. For years I have used 3rd Party software called Iconoid but it has not been updated for Windows 7. How do I change the font colors for the desktop labels within Windows 7?

Welcome to Seven Forums Asker24. Iconoid may work, even if have to run under compatibility mode, worth a try.

Something that may help is to turn drop shadows off:

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Performance

Untick Use Drop Shadows for Icons on the desktop

    See if that helps.

I have done those things and all I can say is that this is really not a very good solution. One might have expected something better at this stage of Windows development? This is fine if one is using a plain vanilla desktop. With ones own image as wallpaper, then more flexibility with desktop items is almost essential?
