You touched the registry, use system restore to go back before the change. Then if you must make those changes, get the help of someone who has expertise in that area.

Hi Tzakhi, welcome to the Seven Forums.

As Rich already mentioned, the best you could do is to restore your system. When you have done that, change your logon screen using the method described in this tutorial: Log On Screen - Change. There's no need to manually edit registry to change logon screen.

thank you Rich and Kary ,
regarding yours suggestion - unfotunately , there is no restore point .

Kari - i tried to use this tweak before but i got an error message.

i have tryed to go back by deleting the entry that i have added to the registry - the logon screen returned to default but i still get the same problematic screen .

do you know how to change it without formating my OS ?

A long shot but its free

    do this
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
If errors are shown try several times.

Boot the computer and refresh the screen

If all else fails we can try a repair install, if you have the install DVD.

Hello Tzakhi, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If the SFC scan above does not help, then if you have a retail Windows 7 installation disc, you can use it to do a repair install with after you have finished starting back into Windows 7. This will allow you to repair this without losing anything.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
