Microsoft High Definition Driver vs Realtek high definition audio driv
Microsoft High Definition Driver vs Realtek high definition audio driver?
Microsoft High Definition Driver vs Realtek high definition audio driver?
Depends on whether you want basically functionality (Microsoft HD driver), or take full advantage of whatever features the sound card has (the actual driver for the sound card, whether Realtek or any other).
Correct. If you have a good look through the Audio forum there are lots of threads where people have had problems getting even just 5.1 sound when using the default Microsoft HD driver that was solved as soon as the actual driver for the card was installed.
Is this thread still on? Or can we add a few more... because I find a situation in which I blv this thread should've solved the issue.
Please respond if anybody spoken here is onboard.
My vote goes to the ms driver! Comes with Windows, enough functionality, solid stable (no games ever complained for me, e.g.). Vs. Realtek's 300+ MB install, extra background processes, etc. - but more functionality if like or really want that stuff (equalizer, effects, etc.).
