Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Dear Valued Customer,
I finally got a reply from Egistec and they gave me a new driver. I am going to try it out today:

Thank you for contacting EgisTec and we apologize for the late reply.

The driver is available for download at

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further assistance.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Well, the driver that EgisTec provided seems to be the exact same driver I had previously and doesn't resolve the issue.

I tried to reply to the email they sent. But, the email address they sent the message from doesn't accept replies. I just get an auto-reply saying they don't accept replies to the email.

So, I then tried to log-in at their website to the access the ticket, but their website log-in/ticket system doesn't work either (noticing a trend with this cheap company). When attempting to log-in at the EgisTec website, I get taken to a blank page (that includes their website header). When I click on any link in the header, it doesn't have me logged-in and asks me to log-in again.

So, I had to create a NEW login with a NEW email because the system says "email already in use" when trying to use my same email (and as I said, I can't login with original email).

So here is my latest message to EgisTec (after creating a second log-in just to access their contact form):

First of all, this email is in reponse to Case #1701 where you replied to my question to my email address ******** Your lousy website doesn't allow me to login and access an old support ticket. The only way to email your company is to create a new login. When trying to login with my previous username & password, it just takes me to a blank page and doesn't allow me to access a previous ticket. Additionally, I can't reply directly to your emails or I get a reply that says:
"Since the mail account "" is not a response center, we do overlook enquiries posted within."

Needless to say contacting your company has been beyond frustrating.

But again, this email is in response to Case 1701 as listed in the header of your reply. Please direct your reply to my email: ******* Once again, there is no way to contact you directly from my usual email. And again, your log-in system doesn't work.

Anyway, thank you for getting back to me one full month after my inquiry. I assumed that you guys weren't going to reply and that your readers don't work with Windows 7 WBF as you say they do. So, I purchased another external reader from another manufacturer (which worked great).

After receiving your reply with the driver link which you said was "available for download at", I removed and uninstalled the secondary (and working reader) from my computer in order to try out your new driver with the Egistec internal reader that came with my system (which you state in your press release works with Windows 7 WBF)

However, the driver that you have provided doesn't fix the problem. The reader still does not work with Windows 7 WBF.

Windows 7 Message:
There are no fingerprint readers attached to this computer.

Even with your provided driver, Windows 7 still doesn't recognize this device as a valid WBF reader.

Now, I would appreciate if you could reply to my original email address at ******* and do so with an email address that I can actually reply to. If replying with a valid email isn't possible, I would appreciate it if you could fix your log-in system so I can actually log-in to access my ticket.

As you might assume, dealing with your company has been the biggest headache.

They finally admitted that the model reader (SS801) which came with my Core i7, 2011 model Acer laptop doesn't work with Windows 7 WBF. Therefore, they put out a false press release and I purchased this laptop under a false pretense.

I wish there was something I could actually do about this. I am very annoyed that I even wasted my time on this.

Windows 7

Just picked up a Lenovo B570 laptop with a fingerprint reader and the Bioexcess software and no dice

It will have a successful read, i put in my password and then it requests me to run my finger over it 6 more times. Everytime I get to the 6th run it says it failed to register and puts me through the process again.

DM says the drivers are up to date and it's working properly - obviously it is not.

piece o' crap

Native Win7 Egistec Fingerprint Support

This thread is a bit old, but I just bought a Lenovo V570, and I found myself reading it for support, so hopefully this helps. First thing I did was remove all the "bloatware" from the computer, but after I removed "Bioexcess" Windows wouldn't recognize my fingerprint scanner. It took me a while but I managed a sort of workaround.

I reinstalled the latest version of Bioexcess from the Lenovo Website. I updated my egistec "ES603" fingerprint driver, through Device Manager, from version to I then removed Bioexcess once again.

Windows 7 still said I needed a fingerprint/password manager so:
Finally, I installed "ThinkVantage" fingerprint software for Thinkpads. It is far less intrusive, and uses much less resources.
I configured Thinkvantage software, then configured windows biometric service
It has worked for me perfectly since.
