    Thats the thing,

they are all different components and at the moment i am unable to find out the components!

    i know that it is

    AMD athlon XP 2400
    And 1Gb Pc3200 RAM DDR
and the network adapter (but no drivers)
    Wireless LAN PCI Adapter
802.11b Compliant 11Mps Data transfer Rate
motherboard make and model is most likely going to be the best help ?

If you want a decent connection speed I suggest get a PCI card wireless lan adapter as the onboard one at first glance is saying it's only 802.211b compliant which is an old and slower transfer rate :/

    Unfortunatly it didnt work

    any other ideas?
Not so fast, partner. Both neo101 and I came up with the same driver based on your hardware IDs. One of three things has happened:

    1) You mistyped the IDs and miraculously that error fell on another valid driver. Triple check the IDs as I can spot one error already (SUVSYS vs. SUBSYS) and my driver contains your exact string:
    Code:
    [AMD]
    %DeviceNameAMDHW1%=AMDHW.ndi,PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_2003
    %DeviceNameAMDHW2%=AMDHW.ndi,PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_2003&SUBSYS_20031022
    2) You didn't use device manager to install the driver. "It didn't work" is a common sign of user error. What was the error message? How did you go about installing? You know that CAB files are archives like ZIP files, right? And the the resulting set of files contains an INF file that you must locate with device manager to install? Update catalog files are typically not "run setup.exe to install" drivers...

    3) There are other unknown devices you didn't list. AMD motherboards frequently require drivers to be installed in a certain order. Leaf nodes of the device tree typically depend on devices closer to the root of the device tree and as such the latter need to be installed first for the former to be recognized.

Perform this due diligence and, if it too fails, I'll be happy to help you continue with your resolution.

In re-reading the thread it appears that your brother was the one installing the driver?

Search/download "Everest - Home edition" for XP (it's free)

    Do a "quick report"
(on top menu heading > 'Report' > "Quick report")

Copy and paste results into this thread!
