indeed,
meanwhile I've done windows update and it installed my drivers. I was glad I saw the transparant windows after it and a better looking resolution. I couldn't make catalyst working but it's not a problem cause I could change the properties in Unreal Tournament 2004 which runs very smooth.
So the main problem is solved.
Now I have to find out how to run Deamon Tools elsewhere on the forum.
Good luck everyone who still have the problem!
..
I tell u what i did If u have XP CD install that first on to ur computer.. Then like any other app u install on xp Just install windows 7 It will restart your computer automatically and start from were it left off with drivers and it should.. Have the Pre drivers and Stuff on and it should work like a charm!! hope that helped if any of you need more help i can help .. mabby i should make a video XD
Which would mean then that you could simply take W7 and then install the Windows XP drivers in XP compatibility mode, saving you the XP install time....
i dont think i did ever answer your Q but No i just installed FROM xp and when i say that i mean I had windows XP as my OS and booted up and Put the Windows 7 disk in and started installing like it was anyother Install thing and It restarted on its own and (with Updates) and bam it worked ^_^
Something you might try...
With my IGP HD3300 neither the latest official driver 8.12 nor the W7 preview driver would work, says something like "The driver did not load because the device has a problem"... something like that.
Solution:
I had to roll back to the 8.10 driver, which works perfectly.
Hey man im smart in all but i got lucky Not that i know to much about ATI but mabby its just because windows 7 still is alittle bugish its still a beta so you cant expect everything to work out right If you havent already try installing like i suggested and if that isnt the problem then I dont know Much but mabby try installing in Compatibility mode ?
Hi,
I had the same problem, i cudnt get my res above 1024 x 768, i searched everywhere, i tried literally everything. After having no luck i reluctantly formatted my hdd and installed vista (instead of xp), i followed the step by step instructions Cncmasterw suggested & made sure everything was working then installed Windows 7, finally after installing 3 operating systems in 1 day (Windows 7, then Vista, then Windows 7 again!) i booted up on windows 7 & to my disappointment it hadnt worked – gutted! I right clicked on desktop & clicked screen resolution to make sure but i could still only go up to 1024 x 768 & there was no way i could cope at this resolution!
However, Iv found a much quicker & easier solution & it worked for me, download the latest display drivers here (iv uploaded them for you using rapidshare cos i previously downloaded & tried that many drivers i now cant remember where i downloaded them from!)
Step by step instructions for the unsure!
1. Click on Start
2. Right click on computer & click properties
3. Click on device manager (top left)
4. Click the “+” next to display adapters
5. Right click on “ATI Radeon Xpress 200M” & click properties
6. Click on the Driver tab
7. Click Update Driver
8. Select “Browse my computer for driver software”
9. Using the Browse button, locate the folder you’ve just downloaded “display-20080318145124” & open it, then open “Display Driver” & then “Packages” then “Drivers” then “Display” & then “LH_INF” & then double click “CL_39458” and thats it!!
10. Now restart and if its not already at a higher res, left click on your desktop, click screen resolution and select the highest one (should be above 1024x768... touch wood!)
Straightforward instructions for the tek heds!
1. On device manager click on display adapters
2. Expand & right click ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Series & selec t properties
3. On the driver tab click update driver and select “Browse my computer for driver software”
4. Locate the display drivers folder you’ve just downloaded then follow the following path..
5. display-20080318145124\Display Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH_INF
6. & then double click CL_39458, and thats it!!
Now just restart!!
Pls let me know if this works for you!
