    Logitech ClickSmart 310 Webcam

Since I received my new (Dell) computer with Windows 7 (which I'm not exactly delighted with) neither my Logitech web cam or my Epson DX4800 scanner won't work and I can't find drivers anywhere.

    Can anyone help please?

Looking at the Clicksmart 310 download page,

    ClickSmart® 310

not surprised there aren't any Windows 7 drivers for it, the last driver update for it was for XP from 2002 (including one for Windows 98). This is one of those situations where it may still work, but you can't expect the company (any company) to kepp providing support for long discontinued items.

Good heavens, didn't realise it was that old! Must be time for a new one!!

Thanks to all. I'll download the Epson driver today and see if it works but I have a feeling I've tried that one. As a matter of interest, how does one know whether one has a 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7? Mine seems to be either??

if you do a 'alt'+'pause/break' you will get a screen that will tell you under System type: whether you have 32-bit or 64-bit....if you don't know then you probably have 32-bit

side note: right-click on computer in the start menu -- go-to properties and you'll get the same results

Bought a new cam (£15) and all is well there but can't get the scanner to work. Established that my system is 64 bit and downloaded the appropriate driver and installed it but no joy. It seems odd that the printer side of the DX4800 works fine, and the photocopy function (but that is stand alone in the printer) but the scanner not?

I reinstalled the EpsonScan program from the CD that came with the unit but then the printer didn't work either and I had to go back to the website and re-install the 64 bit driver from there.

I can't really justify to go out and buy another unit just because the scanner doesn't work. Don't use that function very often but nice to have the facility.

Thanks for all the advice folks. Most helpful forum.

My son got it for uni four years ago. I still have my old computer running Windows XP and it still works fine on that so it is definitely a Windows 7 issue!
