I don't understand how to install this driver, or any of the drivers on the Adaptec site.
I go to Device Manager, & select my SCSI controller. I select General -> Update Driver. I select Browse My Computer. I select the directory with the unzipped files. I click Next. Says, "Windows could not find driver software for your device." All of these downloads--every last download from Adaptec--contains no drivers. A driver would be a DLL or an EXE. These contain only .cat, .inf, .sys, or .pnf files. No drivers. |

Thanks ETHE, I've installed the driver successfully.
I've dusted down my old Canoscan FS2710, but cannot get the Canonscan software (from the CDROM to talk to the scanner). If I reboot, there is communication from the PC (Win7 x64) to the scanner as it starts to make whirring noises... so how did you get the scanner to communicate? what software did you use? regards Brian |

So since this is a hit and run operation - I bought a box with a Cellery 2.4Ghz with 1Gb of RAM and XP SP3 clean install (for US$ 30). It'll be used for this, then dumped most likely. Sorry for not being able to help. |

Adaptec AVA-2903B
Can anyone confirm or deny if this driver for the Adaptec 2904 will work with an Adaptec AVA-2903B - assuming I am also running Windows 7 (x64)?
I am quite desperate to know, for I absolutely need to get a tape drive up and running. Thank you in advance. |
