hello again! It's so sad that i just posted yesterday that i installed a fresh win7... today, i looked up to this thread again using my mobile phone and found that thing called xperf... hey, thanks man, it might be very handy... so yesterday, my laptop was lightning fast after my normal 3rd party program installations so i decided to back it up with EASEUS ToDoBackup... today, my laptop went crawling like lame or maybe worse than lame... so i decided to use xperf, but response time was so slow i couldn't even open the startmenu! so i opted to restore using the easeus... by which i accidentally deleted my partitions... now... i got NOTHING! But thanks to TESTDISK i was able to recover the partition table... table only... no more data... but no worries mates! i've been through this twice... so this is the third time... i really hope someone can give a get around solution for me... win7 is great but i think it doesn't like me... tried to install win xp but i get the bsod just before the actual install...

I am not an expert but there are a few things that occur to me.

1. whenever you reinstall you immediatley make other changes as well.
Why not reinstall and wait. Is it windows 7 itself that is causing problems,
or the hardware, or is it the further changes that do this. Dont make a
restore point either at this time.

2. If it stays stable make 1 change only and repeat.

3. This will take a while but may isolate a problem.

4. Was this machine second hand or new? Do you know that the installed
version of 7 was stable at the start? You are resintalling the same version
so there may be an existing problem with it. If you made recovery disks they
may have errors if you burned them at high speed (AFAIK).

I have spent the last week or so on more trivial problems with installing
and I realise how frustrating these things are.

yes! you figured me out! so yeah... i'm gonna try your trick... well, to answer your questions:
1. it was very stable when i was in Berlin since i bought this laptop the day before i went there... i had only a few programs back then and my laptop didn't even go slow while i was there...
2. the slowing effect takes an average of 3 days so installing them one at a time should take about a month... this should lead to #3 so that i can identify the problem...
4. this is a new one, in fact, i bought it around the 1st week of april 2010... i know win7 here was stable since i went to Berlin with it and returned home a month after with not even a single slowdown... no prob with disks, i have pqservice partition... i'm from the Philippines btw...nice to meet you aquarian! i'll hope i can still find this thread again for updates... thanks!

ok... so i did a fresh install last night and added nothing else... so it's just win7 and its default blobs... and then, just now (which means 24 hours later...) it just stops at 'Starting Windows'... so win7 was unstable for me after all the reinstallations... what do i do now?

Test the ram

Do you have 2 different types of ram in your machine? Someone else may
know if that can be a problem. Your specs suggest this.

yes... i actually bought another 2GB RAM and installed it right after i bought that laptop... I know BIOS sees it by pressing F2... and Win7 too by clicking on the My Computer properties...

right now I removed the 2GB extra RAM... I'm gonna be reinstalling Win7 again through the recovery disks, not through the pqservice partition... I know the crash is gonna go around the corner, but i'm not giving up on it, although i was actually thinking of sending that laptop to a service station already... i won't install the normal applications for aquarian's suggestion...

ok richc46, i subscribed to it...
