Since I am fluent in Spanish went to the Google Translate page, this may be helpful:

I have a Toshiba Satellite A210-11T (PSAEGE). Tired of Windows Vista installed from scratch Windows 7 and I was amazed. I had some small problems of drivers / support that could solve, but two of them still can not get the solution.

The first is the Synaptics TouchPad (mouse on the laptop) that does not work. With no drivers for Windows 7 went down this Toshiba model for Windows Vista but no luck, not down from the Synaptics website.

The other thing is that it does not work the FN key on the keyboard. Bah, the key work for me because a light comes on, but does nothing when combined with the above functions (eg mute, increase or decrease brightness, etc.).

I will appreciate if someone could guide me to solve these two problems.
    I'll have a look. :)

    Cajita,

    Welcome to SevenForums.

    I have a Toshiba laptop.

My ran fine with the Microsoft drivers.

You can, and should, go to the Toshiba website. You can there provide your model, etc and the fact that you want drivers and updates for Windows 7.

Let me see if I have the links that you need.

Now some of those links may be specific for my model, but they will help you get to the correct place.

Oh, yes: although the titles for some links are the same, the actual webpages are different!

Thank you for your replies. The problem is my exact model isn't on those sites, and I have tried several versions of the Synaptics driver for similar laptops and none worked. Which one do you think I should install?

Then by all means place a call to Toshiba.

I'm sure they would be very interested in hearing that one of their computers isn't on their website.

You evidently did not disable and remove all drivers. For if you had, you would have a working system, albeit not maybe ideal.

I noticed that when I completely uninstall Synaptics and the mouse and restart, windows 7 updates suggests me to install the Synaptic driver, I say yes, install and restart again and I see it's the 11.1.18.0 version. It says it's installed and working properly, but it does not work.

Go to the Toshiba site. Somewhere there you will find a link for "Ask Iris".

Follow that link and ask where you download the latest driver for your touchpad.

I have fouind the Toshiba website to be excellent and helpful.

Oh I can't believe it! The damn thing didn't work not because of the drivers but because of the stupid flash cards. The drivers (any of them) and mouse were okey, and although it was always correctly installed and enabled in the mouse configuration it wasn't enabled by default with the "FN" key + "F9" which is the one that activates it. I didn't realize about it before because the "FN" isn't working (that's my other problem), but I went to the flash cards upper in the screen with the external mouse and it was just as simple as enabling it. Damn thing. Thank you so much for your time karlsnooks.

    Cajita,
Thanks for getting back to us with the solution.

Actually, I'd forgotten about that "gotcha" with Toshiba.

I disabled and uninstalled all Toshiba-unique software from my Toshiba because the software offered no features which I did not already have with win7 and the software interferes with some functions, as you found out.
