Ricoh SD card reader NOT WORKING

I've tried searching this forum, but I couldn't find anything that applied to my situation.

I had Vista x64, then upgraded it to Windows 7. I got the companion disc from Sony which included all drivers for upgraded Windows. Everything worked fine, except for SD card reader.

When I insert the card, it does not read. When I go to the device manager and disable / enable the device, it reads. If I take the card out, the computer doesn't realize that the card is not there anymore. If I try to browse the SD card on the computer after I eject it, the computer crashes. (Not immediately. I think Windows remembers what was in it for a little while.)
If I insert the SD card again later(with some changes made) without disabling Ricoh SD host controller in the device manager and enabling it again, it crashes the same way.
It was really annoying having to disable / enable this device every time, but I put up with it.

Recently my computer crashed and my recovery disc was corrupted, so I bought a Windows 7 x64 Home Premium and did a clean install.
I installed all other drivers including the latest motherboard driver, and of course the SD card reader from Sony support.

    Exactly same thing happens.

I uninstalled / installed this driver multiple times, but same thing. I even reinstalled it with the "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller" that Windows 7 installs for me.
    Same thing.

I have to disable / enable the card reader device every time.

This is the hardware id for the SD card reader:

    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&SUBSYS_9035104D&REV_22
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&SUBSYS_9035104D
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&CC_080500
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&CC_0805

OS: Windows 7 x64 Home Premium

I have no clue what I can do to resolve this problem......

Yep, I tried it, and same thing. I have to disable/enable the device to get it to work.
