Sorry man ... It seems that AGP x1950 is unsolved problem... Probably some big error but don't thing ati or anybody else will bother solving problems with old cards especially AGP ... i suggest stay with XP if you don't plan buying new motherboard and graphic card with PCI-E anytime soon ...

ATI have released a legacy driver for the X------ range of cards for Win 7, this covers the X1950 pro.

I haven’t tried it yet mainly because I have a working driver in the cat 9.1

I don’t know if it covers AGP cards, you would have to try it.

Ok I downloaded the old ATI 9.1 driver for Vista 32b, and it worked on my computer.

I found also few relevant link, but I not tried them because I got mine to work. But maybe you should try them, if otherwise shall not act well.

    my problem is this:

my Asus EAX1950 pro works great with the driver windows update installed. (using dvi --> hdmi cable)

under xp i could only run on vga connection to my tv, because dvi--> hdmi looked awful.

under seven its even worse, vga doesnt do anything (my guess is a wrong res or freq) and when i install ccc my hdmi looks like its a tv needed to be cleaned, just plain awful. no matter what version, ive installed them all.

i`ve tried every res, every freq, every forced mode there is within ccc, nothing

ive always worked on my tv mith my pc (1080p), and under xp with no problem at all

for now it wrks great, but im guessing that i need the latest driver for the latest games to play?

i hope I make any sense (my english isnt good enough for me to explain a quess or thougt in english the way i want to)...

might be a good time for an upgrade of my graphics card...
