contenitore,

You should be able to re-enable Print Preview by going to the Start Menu, select Printers and Devices, then right click your Epson Printer and select "Printing Preferences". From there, select the Shortcut tab and enable 'Print Preview'. See attached photo.

Cheers,

DonC

Unfortunately. in "printing preferences" of styluscolor880 in seven there is no more "print preview" flag that was in XP.
Do you have launched any Epson sw to enable this function?
Thanks

Hi
Although I can see both your printers listed, I cannot see mine only a later version which does not appear to do the job required. so I have gone back to my original third party software and it works better than the epson comparison . So thanks for the advice but no thanks.
Regards

I can also see the ink levels on my wife's shared RX680. So look at my previous posting and follow the link to Epson W7 drivers.

Bye.

I have enquired to epson and they have replied that the ink level monitor is not available for windows seven but they are working on a fix. The ink levels and the get ink levels button are greyed out and unusable before and after installing the latest drivers from the epson site! which is why i got fed up and installed third party software ( which will also reset the counter to make the printer think it is serviceable, or thats what i have been told)

Its built into the OS

I have an old epson Stylus Photo R200 connected through USB. If you open Printer Properties, then under the General tab, click the Preferences button at the bottom. On the Main tab click Get Ink Levels button at the bottom.

It used to be under the Maintainance tab which is why it took me awhile to find it also even though in the end it was pretty obvious. Hope this helps someone.

I'm having the same issue with my NX420. Everything is working as it should except Status Monitor which times out after 5 minutes. It did take some time getting the scanner to work because you need to run the scan settings first which the manual fails to indicate. Regardless, I cannot scan from the printer because the only option it allows is USB connection. I have to scan from the computer. Wireless priniting is flawless.

As a software developer, this shows that Epson has poor design skills. The issue here is the main driver that is used with SM3 works fine and SM3 should be using the same network protocols as the main printer driver. What's interesting is that SM3 is embedded in the printer properties because you can view the ink levels from there. On my setup, all of the ink levels are gray. That tells me that the software cannot communicate with the printer to access its ink levels. This is doable since I can at least view the ink levels on the LCD window. My Lexmark this replaced couldn't scan at all so I'm happy at least with the NX420.

Epson Status Monitor

Think I figured out on how to use pre-installed Epson Drivers for other versions of the printers and can be pre-configured to use, to enable the user to view the status of the printer when one sends a print job.

I had a challenge trying to set the mode of my print job using the latest Epson print drivers. Where else the earlier versions of Epson example PX660, 800 Series had the all module set and are hardly available on the epson drivers. One is likely to download the updated version, which cannot display the status of the printer and consequently the printer job mode, that is draft, normal, photo and best photo.

As a factory trained Epson Tech, I can tell you, "Never get Epson Drivers from any source other than EPSON."
If you need help with any Epson product, call the Epson HELP Line.

Re-Installing the Epson drivers and software for your printer should fix any problem you're having with your printer. In doing that, you may even get an offer to update the Firmware in your printer. I just did that recently with my own Epson Printer.

Epson wants you to be happy with your EPL-6200 (or any Epson product) and they will be glad to help you.
Recommended Epson Driver Download : DriverSupport helps keep your PC drivers updated. Windows 8, Windows XP, Vista Windows 7.

Cheers Mate!
