Firewire no longer working in Win 7

I use an extremely old PCI Texas Instruments compliant firewire card, I have used it for the past 12 years or so, an old ASUS model.

It initially worked in Win 7, with Premiere Pro CS5.

For some reason it now refuses to work, it is flagged in Control Panel, and there seem to be no supported drivers.

This occurred after a Windows update, I get different responses depending on which PCI slot I use, the closer I go to the processor side the problems become more severe, i.e. the whole caboodle simply hangs.

If I move away from the processor side, I just get a driver error.

The weird thing is I was using this with no problems only a few months back.

Any suggestions?

Look for Vista or XP drivers and install in compatabilty mode.
Compatibility Mode

1. Place the driver installation on the Desktop.

2. Right Click the driver installation file and select .Properties Compatibility Tab Select the appropriate options in from the list in the following image.

3. ClickOK

4. Right Click the file and select the Run as Administrator option to install.

Thank you both, the problem I seem to be having is actually getting any drivers these days! (yes I know - I forgot to save the originals) thanks for your replies, I will look through them tomorrow and see if I can get them working, the only other option is to buy a new firewire card for PCIE- which do seem a bit expensive compared to what I paid for my previous one.

The only drivers I ever had were I think XP at best and maybe Windows 98, however they seem to be as rare as proverbial rocking horse SHXt, ASUS no longer supply them, the thing is, Win 7 knows what the card is, but will not provide drivers.
Thanks! Appreciated.
