Try locating bttray.exe (click on start orb, type bttray in the search box), then start it manually. Suggest you reinstall the drivers, they have likely not installed properly.

Also, make sure the bluetooth icon in the notification area is blue/white and not blue/red.

Acers have a bluetooth toggle switch at the front of the computer, make sure its not turned off.

I've exhausted whatever i could think of. Just a couple more things i can suggest.

    1) Run the MS fixit.

Troubleshoot problems with Bluetooth enabled devices

    2) In device manager, uninstall and reinstall the bluetooth card.

    3) Explore new drivers, and test with another device like a different phone or headset.

    4) It could be a bad card. Consider contacting acer support.

    Good luck!

Know this has been going for awhile. Just picked up an HP 8440p and could not get my S9-HDs working. I ended up going to Broadcom.com - Bluetooth Software Download and downloaded the driver. My HP recognized the S9s, but still wouldn't work, so I disabled the speakers and repaired the S9s and they worked.
