    mybook drivers for repair from image


    im trying to restore an image thats on my external mybook. however windows 7 is asking for drivers to find the external. can anyone point me in the right direction for these drivers so i can burn them to a cd and help windows setup see my external?

    is this 32 or 64 bits? do you know the exact model of your external hard drive?

    heres a WD site which has drivers and installation software for different models

    What mybook do you have ?
    On my 2GB drive there is a partition that usually gets mounted as a virtual CD drive which holds (beside the WD software a directory called WD-SES Device Drivers it contains
    wdcsam.cat wdcsam.inf, wdcsam.inf, wdcsam.sys and wdcsam64.sys.
    Not sure if it's those you're looking for, tho
    On the 1GB drive (~1 year older) there is only a folder named WD_Windows_Tools which doesn't contain any drivers as far as I can see.

    well thanks guys but i just needed to refresh i guess to find the mybook. but now it is giving me the error

    "no disk that can be used for recovering the system disk can be found"

    doing a little web search i believe i may have to format my new hard disk first. let me try that
