realtek audio driver
When I install Windows 7 64 bit, they have a MS driver for my HD audio, I am wondering if I should install the Realtek drivers provided by Gigabyte? tia BTW, sound seems to work fine with MS driver.

Even better, get the latest driver directly from Realtek,
Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version
Thanks, it works fine with my labtop which has the ALC268 chip but not sure if I should install it on my desktop since the Realtek drivers from Gigabyte caused no sound with some of my avi and slow down my AVCHD playback with PowerDVD 9, MS driver has none of the above problem but will test that Realtek driver when I have time.
What FireBerd said. Realtek sound drivers may cause cracks, pops and scratchy sounds.
Look over and the "Sound" part of this forum.
I don't have cracks pops and scratchy sounds with the Realtek drivers but there is no sound playing some of my AVI but with MS embedded HD Drivers, no problem, I am staying with MS driver for while longer before I'll try Realtek again.
when i install my audio driver it said Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !! [Error Code : -0001]
what shall i do?
Years ago(recently), HP came stock with Realtek audiocards and drivers, and for some odd reason they wouldn't work when trying to play a game, or any type of .exe or flash. A quick fix was getting an old pair of headphones/earphones, and cutting off the end wire, (only having the jack) and plugging it into the back mic slot. It makes it miraculously work for some reason. Temporary fix to a permanent problem though.
