Yeah. I run 4GB of ram and SLI video cards, so 32-bit can not take advantage of my hardware. This is the first problem I have encountered so far. I am a bit confused why it wont work since it worked fine in 64-bit Vista, AND it worked in 64-bit Windows 7 when I upgraded from 64-bit Vista. Just not the fresh install.
It LISTS your ram fine. Windows does not take advantage of it though. SLI works fine, but it adds to the total amount of ram that a 32-bit OS can address. With 2 cards running at 512MB each, that knocks of 1gb of ram from the 4gb.
32-bit can address 4gb of total ram. That includes system memory, video card memory, and any other such.
Switching to a 32-bit OS is not a solution for me. :) It is just a workaround to ignore the problem.

I found 64-bit to run noticeably better. Especially when doing things like capturing video while running games at 1080p.
Why do we still use virtual memory?

So all the physical memory installed in your PC is used by the processor as one big pool of resources. Processes can think whatever they want and address huge memory spaces, that's all in virtual land. Swapping means accessing the disk and freezing the requesting process until its page of memory has arrived from the disk, which takes millions of processor cycles (a lifetime from the processor's point of view). Hey Fillup, how did you manage to install that software version ?
I attempt to install it and it never gets past the Starting Service portion of the install.
The version of software I downloaded specifically is quickcam_11.9.0.1263_x64 for Vista, since there is no Windows 7 specific release.
I have UAC turned completely off, tried installing it with default settings, as well as in Compatibility mode, but every time it makes it to Starting Service, it fails.
That's the version I have as well. I didn't have any problems installing it though. Try uninstalling any previous version of the software first. I think I used the Vista compatibility mode and Run this program as an Administrator option.
