Problems of keyboard driver on HP Presario C700

    Hello all,

Yes I have keyboard driver issues, but i have managed to type this up!.. copied and pasted each character using a mouse!.. lol.

Just kidding, but I know the keyboard works, checked in DOS on startup. its fine. had Vista previously, but got peed off with it and decided to install W7, but in frenzy, i have formatted and installed W7, and for some strange reason, I cannot find the damn keyboard driver, checked HP site. no luck!.

Some general direction would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks all, ah, by the way, the mousepad on the lappy is not working either. I suspect it is linked to keyboard.. Cheers..

    Thanks for the reply..

It is a C757EA. HP site is not very user friendly for this laptop + W7 install.. Thanks for the manual too, but this doesnt help I have searched all over, but just cant seem to get this going. I'm now tempted to call HP themselves, not sure what good that will be!. Any ideas?..

Im afraid i will be transferred to some call centre jockey in India.. no disrespect to India, but I cant stand their lifeless approach to assisting customers.. anyway thats beside the point!. I shall call them tomorrow, waste about a hr or so, to find out, I should not have upgraded.

Hey, is that possible, whereby, the lappy is not compatible with W7, and I will have to downgrade. dont mind downgrading the XP, but it just sounds mad to have to go through the hassle. The laptop has a shiny screen, it seems 'relatively' new!.

It is strange to me, how is it possible that keyboard does not work? Normally for every keyboard that is connected via USB or PS2 there is a standard driver (Even for abnormal type of keyboards) and it is called HID compatible device or PS2 compatible keyboard.
Is it that you keyboard does not work at all, or only function keys don't work?
