hi, realtek have a driver on their websites will Windows 7
Realtek
With 7 coming up in 4 months you are now going to start seeing newer versions. The one thing MS is focusing on now not seen with Vista's initial release is improved driver support.
Actually here I ended up needing to change ISPs entirely to get online with the 64bit side of things! The old "outdated" dsl setup seriously lacked having seen the last driver update back in 2002! "Time to go"!
I could never get online with any Linux distro as well. But the new ISP didn't quite get off to a good start due to the modem the installer brought alone which was likely previously used as well as being a cheapie brand to start with.
Having added the nic card in prep for ethernet over the old usb network adapter crap nothing worked! And forget the 64bit 7 either since the drivers for the old model modem were intended for 2000/XP! Some Vista support with the latest update found but nothing for 64bit again!
Solution? Say foobar to ISP provided non sense and simply "buy your own"! You can also subtract the monthly rental fee they charge for cheapie too!
I told them to come pick up the garbage modem to get it out of here! one night with a live rep online. The ISP had detected another modem in use and was about to charge for unreturned equipment?!
Since the installer brought it with him I had to suspect it was used anyways when nothing worked with the ethernet port on it. Put the new modem and whamo! even Linux connects without fuss over any drivers! First time for everything!
