    Required CD/DVD drivers are missing

    Guys....need urgent help

I am getting this message on Asus G60vx laptop and I just replaced the hard drive and trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on it but I get stuck at this message. So far I had tried this,
    - Install Windows 7 using internal drive
    - tried downloading ATA ATAPI drivers and pointing it to the location but it still doesnt recognise
    - Cannot find drivers within OS DVD
    - Tried changing BIOS option for IDE configuration to RAID, Enhanced and Compatible but it doesnt install the OS
    - Tried installing Windows XP 32 bit but get blue screen error...BIOS was set to RAID at that time and tried Compatible and Enhanced.
    - Tried another external Sony DVD drive but still get the blue screen with XP and doesnt get the drivers page with Windows 7.

Any other ideas or trick? I am ok with installing Windows XP on it too but nothing works and the hard drive and memory test came out fine.

    Please help. thanks

    1) Reset your BIOS back to default.
    2) Are using the Asus Recovery Disks?
    3) Are trying Dual boot Windows 7 & XP?

No dual boot...just new hard drive...open to install any OS at this point and get it to work. BIOS is set to Compatible for IDE configuration and boot priority is DVD drive, hard drive. Thanks

The Asus G60vx comes with Windows 7 as new.

    1) Reset your BIOS back to default.
    2) Why have you replaced the HD?
    3) Will the new HD show in BIOS?

I had tried resetting BIOS before and have manually changed settings too. Not much to change in BIOS...only tried the IDE configuration and BOOT priority. Replaced hard drive bcuz old one would not boot at all and would just show the blank screen. After replacing it, HD boots up and is recognized in BIOS too. it gets all the way to windows 7 install and get stuck at installing drivers. Wont let me finish the OS installation.

    1) Reset your BIOS back to default.

    2) Clean the HD by using Clean All in this tutorial:

How can the recovery disk help me here? I want Win XP 32bit installed on the machine and I dont think ASUS makes 32bit xp drivers. Anyway I can get drivers or install WIN 7 ULT 64 bit on it. Everytime I try to install WIN 7 64 bit, it doesnt launch bcuz i have 32 bit OS on the system. Anyway to bypass that and install Win 7. Thanks
