Sony Vaio VPCEC1M1E/WI Drivers

Hi,

I have reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on my laptop Sony Vaio VPCEC1M1E/WI I have found all the drivers apart from one device that is currently being listed as a Base System Device.

Would someone be able to let me know where I can download this driver from?

Thanks

can you go to that device in device manager (type device manager in search) go to the tab with the yellow triangle on it. Right click and go to properties>resources>hardware ids copy the string listed in hardware ids and post it here (see pic)

As a general rule your base system driver should be either a Ricoh, Texas instruments or Conexant card reader driver.

Just go to the Sony site lookup your system and download the card reader driver. If one is not available for Windows Seven 64bit a Vista one will work in compatibility mode Compatibility Mode

Just remember you need a 64bit driver so if they only offer XP it would have to be a 64bit professional driver. Otherwise we can use zigzag3143's great suggestion to find a compatible driver.

(edit) you could also try the search function for base system drivers, you'll get a ton of them but a lot are Sony's and could try some of them as well.
