    Need WinTV-HVR 950Q Drivers

    Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950Q

I'm getting desperate. I have tried the Windows Catalog, tons of Google searches and downloaded all the drivers I can find at the Hauppauge site including the 850 drivers.
Installation CD Version 4.8A with WinTV version 6
    WinTV-HVR-950Q driver update: 72drv_27078
WinTV v7 version 1.1E and a couple of more for the 850.

I have tried installing in compatibility mode. I have run the Hauppauge driver cleaner several times. I have uninstalled and each time Windows auto updates the drivers even though I have told it not to under Device Installation settings.

Running 7100 RC, x386. Windows sees the devices and tells me the driver software is up to date. Still have the darn yellow triangles!

If anyone has been successful with either the 950Q or 850, please PM me or reply here.

I've had success with a Hauppauge 950 (not the 950Q) and a pair of 1950 for their QAM. I also have a PCIe 1800 MC Edition. On all three, I used the 4.8a CD image from the web site as you did. I did nothing special when I performed the installation. If this happened to me, I would backup whatever data was worth saving, blow the entire drive away and start over.

Just to be sure, did you plug the 950Q in first and then run the driver installation? That's a weird thing about Hauppauge, they do not want you to try installing the driver unless the device has been physically installed first.

    Bye.

I have the (usb) HVR950Q I had plenty of problems installing it in Win7 Beta (I think I was using the 32bit version) WinTv would crash or freeze win TV support was no help either. But I watched TV in Windows Media Center(which i like better and the screen looks bigger in WMC compared to WinTV). Then I installed Win 7 RC build 7100 (64 bit version) I used the 4.8a version (it was beta then) and I had no more problems with it. If you don't want or can't upgrade to the 64 bit version then maybe you can find more help at hauppauge UK website.
