Intel Graphics Driver - Need for VAIO

    Laptop: Sony VAIO VGN-SR190E
OS: Windows 7, 64 bit PRO
Driver (Sony Support): Intel Graphics Driver INDVID-70205985-64 (v.8.15.10.1855) (wont install)
    Processor: Intel Core Duo P8400
System Devices: Mobile Intel 45 Express Chipset
Video Adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400

The Intel Graphics Driver from the Sony Support site won't install. At least I don't think it installed. When I run the setup app it says "Installed Correctly" , then a window says it did not install with message that it is only for Vista systems. I have no idea if it installed or not. Can someone tell me where to get a graphics driver elsewhere? Or, how can I confirm that it installed?

Also: I went to the Intel Download website and found some drivers that might be the ones. I just not smart enuff to know which one might work. I ran their Graphics Detect app. and it said: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series (M.S. corp WDDM 1.1), Cur. Driver Installed 8.65.1.15.

    thanks for any help

go to your device manager, click in video adapter and see if it is really Amd or is Intel.

Hello there, you need to install the drivers from the Manufacturer's Website. Here:

    Sony eSupport - VGN-SR190E - Software Updates & Drivers

Intel Drivers won't install on your machine because Sony is really anal about their drivers... you have to install their drivers :)

I've tried that. That's why I'm here. thanks anyway.

(Many of their drivers don't install correctly when upgrading to Win 7)

Ya, it is AMD. (I added the chip type to my post).

Well, after 2 days of fooling with this I finally got the Sony Driver (Intel Graphics Driver INDVID-70205985-64, v.8.15.10.1855) to load.

On the Driver Install app. I selected Properties and then set Compatibility Mode to Vista SP2. (I know, this makes no sense). It then installed.

It installed ATI vid. adapter driver ver. 8.632.1.2000. Problem is this Sony driver does more than just install the adapter driver. It does other things (I don't know what) that are required for other graphics related functions to work properly, and it needs to be done before other drivers are installed. This has been a real pain in the azz thanks to Sony's lack of support for my ancient 2 year old laptop.

Also: I searched the AMD driver site and tried their 34xx series driver upgrade app. - it said this adapter not supported - see your vendor for support.
