This is great, good work, and let me know where I can send the 5.00 bucks! Now to find a 64bit driver for any version of windows......

This seemed like a promising solution (setting all of the Fingerprint Reader program/dll files to Vista compatibility for ALL users) but no joy here when I tried it. I still get a crash when trying to enroll fingerprints.

I just can't believe Microsoft would drop support for its own fingerprint reader in Windows 7, especially since Windows 7 has specifically added support for biometric validation devices.

Yes that's the version I used v2.01. Maybe the fix only works with the 64 bit version? What else to try (I'm running 32-bit Win7.)

Thanks for the help - works great!

Thanks, marreco this worked great for me on Windows 7 Build 7000, 32-bit. I did have to reboot though, since the application was already running, so you might add that in to your page.

    Link doesn't work

    Hi,

I was excited to find this post. At first I thought it must be me that has this weird problem where I can register finger prints but once I come to log in, it refuses all my prints, no matter how many I tried.

Does anyone have the page downloaded since it seems that link it broken.

I had the same problem, followed the steps and still no joy.

I finally got this working though.

Install DigitalPersona as normal BUT DO NOT click FINISH. Prior to finishing, modify the properties of the seven EXE files in C:\Program Files\DigitalPersona\Bin (DPAgnt.exe ,DPConsol.exe ,DPExpImp.exe ,DpFpLogonManager.exe ,DpHost.exe ,DPRunDll.exe ,DPWinLct.exe) as follows.
    1. Select “Change Settings For All Users”
    2. Chose to run in “Vista Compatibility” mode (I did not try with SP1 or SP2 version)
    3. Chose “Run as Administrator”
    4. Apply ... ok..... ok
Do these steps for the seven EXE files.

Go back to the install instructions and select Finish and then when the pop-up comes to reboot, Reboot.

After reboot, I needed to go into C:\Program Files\DigitalPersona\Bin and manually launch DPAgnt.exe. Then run the Fingerprint Registration Wizard. I was then able to add items.

ONE LAST THING. I needed to go back into C:\Program Files\DigitalPersona\Bin and go back under “Change Settings For All Users” and remove the “Run as Administrator”. I applied the changes, rebooted one last time and works like a charm.
