    Ok the maxtor probably needs a driver. you can get that from maxtor. this was with the reader not attached?

    make sure you have the RIGHT drivers installed for your card/mobo stata drivers. BEFORE my computer would see ALL my hard drives (SATA) it had to install the RIGHT drivers. Where can you find these drivers, send am e-mail to the company that made your product. GOODLUCK man windows 7 is the ****, when you have the right stuff ;/

    AND hard drives and cd-rom drives; NEVER; need drivers. that's the beauty behind them.

    yop,

    I installed drivers SATAraids of the mobo and it is perfect in spite of some problems of compatibility W7 in the installation...
    Thanks a lot of your help
    PS: the mobo is Asus P5LD2

    Everything works and everything is acknowledged!
