Can't get IntelliType on MS page

    Hello:

    When, on this page

    Software Download

    I put in

    Keyboard
    Natural Multimedia Keyboard (PS/2 connection)
    Windows 7 32 bit
    English

I always get IntelliPOINT, never IntelliTYPE.

What could be wrong? Where can I find a safe copy of IntelliType for PS/2 connection and Win 7 (which version would it be?).

Thank you very much for help!

Kremmen, I put in "Keyboard", but I still get this (IntelliPOINT):

Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Hardware - Download Software
Here's the software available for your product. Follow the link to download it.
If you connect your mouse or keyboard using USB select the following.

    » IntelliPoint 8.01 32-bit for Windows 7
» View the keyboard Software Readme File
» View and download product documentation
» View and download product warranties and licensing terms

If you connect your mouse or keyboard using PS/2 select the following.

    » IntelliPoint 7.1 32-bit for Windows 7
» View the keyboard Software Readme File
» View and download product documentation
» View and download product warranties and licensing terms

How do I know which connector I use?

I know, it is nuts. Now, as I mentioned, I have a relatively old keyboard (but NOT black!!!), and I have a PS/2 connection. Would you know which version of IntelliType I should use?

    Regards,

Your main stumbling block is going to be the versions of Intellitype that are compatible with Windows 7.

I had an old(ish) Microsoft Office Keyboard which I loved, with it's onboard scroll wheel. Unfortunately when I got Win 7 my old Intellitype software would not install and the newer Intellitype software was not compatible with the Office Keyboard.

The best I can suggest is a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

I am sure you are absolutely right. And I will look at the LogiTech keyboard. For some reason, thought, I have never had any luck with LogiTech stuff. Always problems. Home-built machine, but standard components, so I do not know what that is about.

Now, I will try earlier versions of IntelliType first, though. I have had it working with Win 7, so it should be okay. I was just thrown off by getting IntelliPOINT when I asked for IntelliTYPE.

    Thanks for providing the explanation.

Use the Version 7 since you have a PS/2 keyboard (Connector is round and might be purple)

If your keyboard has USB and PS/2, then you can use the 8.01 version of the software, just plug in the USB and not the PS/2.
My old MS Internet Keyboard Pro has USB and PS/2.

Here is what I am running on my setup,

and here is the Version 8 of it,

New features: With IntelliType Pro 8.0, setup automatically detects your keyboard model. If you have more than one keyboard attached to your computer, each keyboard model can have different settings. PS/2 devices are no longer supported in IntelliType Pro 8.0.

The above paragraph comes from the link that Kremmen posted, if you can connect your keyboard via USB you would be able to use version 8 otherwise you will have to use version 7 I believe it is or 7.1, can't remember. My keyboard uses version 8 because I connect it via USB.

Glad to hear you got it working, I used version 7 on my last keyboard which had a PS/2 connector but my new one is a USB connected one so I could install the latest version of IntelliType.
