Its ready for download at Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies.

    What are you waiting for?

    GO!
Nice one, what a shame Nvidia can't get their own software to work. I have their System Update software which is supposed to tell me when new drivers are available. Even doing a manual check it doesn't come up with the drivers, you have to go to their site.

Nice find and thanks for the info...now downloading.

I ran Windows Update and the WDDM 1.1 driver below showed up. Should I try this or the new 181.20 with a 280GTX?

NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 (Prerelease - WDDM 1.1)
This driver was provided by NVIDIA for support of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 (Prerelease - WDDM 1.1) Released 12/31/2008.

Just to give you an idea - I have dual 260s - and I was pretty impressed with the 181.00 drivers.

Plus, the WDDM has one missing *main* feature - you cannot select which card to run SLI on as the main card. The 180.xx series and above you can.

Not very important, of course, for those not using SLI - but for those using it - it is important - especially in a dual monitor setup....

WDM 1.1's are designed specifically for Windows 7 though, so keep that in mind as well...

I installed the latest nVidia drivers and enabled SLI. I can not play World of Warcraft now as the login screen causes a hard hang. When I use the default drivers, I get about 30 seconds of play then a hang.

    Ideas?

Do you have the latest DirectX updates and you can also try the latest nvidia drivers from their website.

I just installed the 181.25 drivers - and the installation screen said "Windows 7 (64bit) driver installation...."

I *do* get a better WEI with WDDM drivers, but I get a better frame rate in GTA:IV with the 181 driver - so I think you can guess which one wins

Have you tried reinstalling WOW from scratch?

WoW did happen to be installed from scratch, but that has no impact. It was not just WoW, either - I found all games went blank or hung.

    Darn shame.
