Windows 7: DVD/CD ROM Drive Incompatible

Yes, my computer is a desktop.

However:

I have discovered that we have been attacking the wrong enemy. The problem was not with the drive and disabling it, uninstalling it, and using the Microsoft Fix it would never work. 'Twas the error code that we were supposed to be aiming for (I tried that Microsoft Fix it for the Error 32, Pooch, but it didn't work).

If you Google "how to fix a code 32 error windows 7", one of the first responses is a website called WindowsVistaRepair (http://www.windowvistarepair.com/Vis...nd-code-19-60/). In there it says to delete a few (specific) files from the registry and reboot.

I'm sorry for wasting all of you guys' time, but these conversations actually did help the situation, as I probably never would have thought to look up the error code in Google. Thank youse for your insight and your want to help me.
